1927-2014。コロンビア、アラカタカ生まれ。ボゴタ大学法学部を中退し、新聞記者となって欧州各地を転々とした後、1955年に処女作『落葉』を発表。1967年『百年の孤独』によって一躍世界が注目する作家となった。『族長の秋』『予告された殺人の記録』『コレラの時代の愛』『迷宮の将軍』など次々と歴史的傑作を刊行し、1982年にはノーベル文学賞を受賞した。

鼓直　Tadashi Tsudumi
1930-2019。旧朝鮮生れ。東京外事専門学校卒業。神戸市外大、神奈川大などでスペイン語を講じながらボルヘス、アストゥリアス、カルペンティエール、コルタサル、ドノソ、ガルシア=マルケスなどの主要作品を翻訳し、ラテンアメリカ文学ブームを牽引した。法政大学教授や日本スペイン協会理事長を歴任。瑞宝中綬章、スペイン民功騎士十字章を受章。
