1949年、スイス生まれ。バーゼル在住。1970年代より、パフォーマンスやペインティングなど作品を発表。ヨーロッパ各地で展覧会を開催。 Tate Gallery (ロンドン）、Museum of Modern Art of New York (USA)、Kunsthalle of Basel (スイス）、Kunstmuseum Bonn (ドイツ）などに作品が所蔵されている。1982年のDocumenta 7に参加し、1984年にはヴェニス・ビエンナーレのスイス館代表として出品する。
